A meeting between Paris and Kyoto. Between chocolate and Japanese craftsmanship. Patrick Roger joins forces with Kaikado, a Japanese house founded in 1875, renowned for its handcrafted metal tea caddies. Born from the encounter between Patrick Roger and Takahiro Yagi, the sixth-generation representative of Kaikado, this collaboration brings together the creative freedom of the French chocolate sculptor and the precision of Japanese craftsmanship passed down since 1875.
DECONSTRUCT TO REINVENT
To bring these creations to life, Kaikado cut and unfolded the boxes provided by Patrick Roger, returning them to their original form as metal sheets before transforming them into tea caddies using the Japanese house’s traditional techniques. Two tea caddies. Two expressions of copper. One retains its natural colour and raw brilliance. The other undergoes an acid treatment, revealing a shade of green that echoes Patrick Roger’s signature colour. Two seemingly different materials, born from the same metal. An exploration of its reactions, nuances and transformations.

Both designs are presented as part of the Kaikado 150+1 exhibition at Biën in Paris, from October 22 to 31, 2026. They are also available for purchase in very limited quantities at Patrick Roger’s Saint-Germain-des-Prés and Madeleine boutiques, filled with Patrick Roger almonds.
